WHERE SHOULD I FLY TO GET TO EC SURFER HEADQUARTERS?

Fly into José Joaquín de Olmedo Guayaquil International Airport (GYE). It is the closest major airport to the coast and the most convenient option for reaching Ayampe. From there, it is an easy 2.5-hour drive to our headquarters.

DO I NEED A VISA TO TRAVEL TO ECUADOR?

Most travelers can enter Ecuador visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism.

WHERE CAN I STAY IN GUAYAQUIL IF I NEED TO SPEND A NIGHT?

We recommend staying at Wyndham Garden, Sheraton Hotel, or Holiday Inn, all conveniently located near the airport.

Money & Booking

WHAT CURRENCY IS USED AND ARE CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED?

Ecuador’s official currency is the U.S. Dollar (USD). In major cities like Guayaquil, international credit cards are widely accepted. However, in Ayampe, credit cards are accepted at only a few restaurants and stores, so we recommend bringing cash. ATMs are available nearby, with a typical daily withdrawal limit of around $200 USD.

HOW DO I RESERVE A SURF TRIP AND WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS?

Contact us to confirm availability. A 50% deposit secures your dates, with the balance due at the start of your trip. We accept bank transfers and credit card (Visa and Mastercard).

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY GUIDED SURF TRIP?

You may reschedule to alternative dates, subject to availability. If postponing is not possible, the 50% deposit is non-refundable, unless you cancel 30 days or more before the tour date. Administrative or booking fees may apply.

After Booking

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I MAKE A RESERVATION?

You will receive an email confirmation or WhatsApp message with your deposit receipt, reservation details, and additional information to help you prepare for your trip.

HOW IS THE INTERNET? CAN I WORK WHILE I AM THERE?

We offer high-speed internet at the house, making it easy to stay connected and work remotely if needed.

WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO BESIDES SURFING?

Ecuador is a natural playground. We can arrange snorkeling, fishing, hiking, biking, yoga, seasonal whale watching, and more. Just let us know what you would like to add to your stay.

Equipment & Safety

DO YOU HAVE SURFBOARDS TO RENT?

We have a few surfboards available for rent. If none are suited to your needs, we can help arrange a board through a local surf shop.

WHAT LANGUAGE DO YOUR GUIDES AND SURF INSTRUCTORS SPEAK?

Our guides and surf instructors speak Spanish and English fluently, and can also understand basic Portuguese.

DO I NEED A TRAVEL INSURANCE?

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers medical expenses and accidents. While we prioritize your safety, unexpected situations can happen, and proper coverage ensures peace of mind during your stay.
